Like so many novels of late, this story is told in two threads - one starts in the past (Paris, 1939) and one starts more recently ( Froid, Montana, 1983). 340) that we are told by a character how to pronounce the main characters name (Oh-deal). It wasn't until very late in the novel (Ch. I wish I had heard the audio to appreciate all of the French names and other words. Unfortunately, I already turned in the print version before I finished going through the eBook notes so some of my references may be out of sequence per the story. I've never been 100% sure, but always believed that regular page numbers, large print page numbers and ebook numbers are the same, however, in this case I am sure they are not.
